Why talk about divorce?
First, as we continue in our series through the Gospel of Mark we are fast approaching chapter 10, which begins with a group of religious leaders seeking to trap Jesus over the issue of divorce. Therefore, we will address the issue of divorce because Scripture is demanding us to.

Second, the epidemic of divorce is pervasively imbedding itself into the fabric of our culture. You would be hard-pressed to find anyone whose life has not directly or indirectly been affected by divorce. Therefore, we will address the issue of divorce because culture is demanding us to.

Finally, many are living under a dark cloud of guilt because of past relational failures and need to be freed through the Gospel. Others are in marriages right now that are on the fast track to divorce and are in need of healing and reconciliation through the Gospel. Therefore, we will address the issue of divorce because the pain and hurt of so many people, and the hope and healing of the Gospel, is demanding us to.

This is a great opportunity to invite friends, family, neighbors and co-workers that you know have in some way been affected by divorce or are in marriages that are on the brink of divorce.

What can I expect during this series?
Before we discuss divorce we will first look at what God's heart for the design and function of marriage is. We will cover the topic of "Marriage" on Sunday, November 8th. After establishing a clear understanding of marriage we will then address the issue of "Divorce" on Sunday, November 15th.
